In this newsletter we share some great tips on creating the perfect environment for recording a podcast, an introduction to Sassy - the latest member of team Janno and an opportunity to collaborate on a piece of complimentary 'Green' content.

If you're working on a new project and you would like some advice, then please give us a shout. We'd be happy to help.

Ten Tips for a Great Sounding Podcast

Podcasting has become one of the most powerful tools to build your brand and audience. Creating a professional sounding podcast episode comes down to the production, so it’s important to get someone on board who will help produce great sounding content. However, there are lots of things you can do to create a perfect recording environment.

If you use these tips then you’ll have a brilliant sounding episode every time.

  1. Use the right kit

Welcome, Sassy!

"I’m so pleased to have joined the team at Janno. I’ve known the company for years, doing lots of work for them as a Voice Over artist. I think it was about 3 years ago that Matt gave me exclusive, home access to one of his mics – a Rode Procaster – meaning he didn’t have to keep belting up and down the M40 between my house and his! Having access to this beautiful bit of kit really opened up a few doors for me and I started getting more interested in audio production.

I trained as an actor at East 15 drama school and for the last 15 years have been working as a theatre professional but doing office work on the side, in unrelated industries, to support myself. I run a theatre company called Get Over It Productions and we produce 2-4 shows a year. One of those shows is a new writing event called The Scene where we take short scripts of around 15 mins and stage 6 of them in an evening.

Over lockdown I saw an opportunity to bring my theatre work and interest in audio production together, and with Janno’s help we started producing The Scene Podcast – a series of dinky little PodPlays. We are now half way through Season 2. It was around this time that I approached Matt to ask if he had any room to properly apprentice me in sound design. Instead he offered me a job! I was able to leave my Office Manager role at a marketing company and throw myself into the wealth of work Janno Media is always nursing.

Being an actor is tough, and the industry has really taken a kicking over 2020. I’m grateful to have been given an opportunity to learn a new skill and pleased that I found a way to pivot my love for theatre and storytelling, in a digital direction."

Let's Come Together on Green Issues

At the start of this year, we launched our green policy. We're really keen to make a positive impact on the environment by applying green thinking to what we do. One of our ideas is to join forces with valued clients to offer a complimentary piece of video content on any green initiatives they're working on.
