David Baird – Head of Photography

I’m the photographer here at Janno Media .

After studying photography at Nottingham Trent University, I spent some time working in marketing and communications. This was a great experience as I was able to learn how businesses worked. But, I always knew that I wanted to be out shooting.

What I love about working at Janno Media is our diverse range of clients – no two shoots are the same.

About me

I grew up just outside of Liverpool and got into photography when I was studying for my A-Levels.

In 2012, I documented Paralympic Gold Medalist, Richard Whitehead’s 40 Marathons in 40 days challenge.  He ran from John O’Groats to Land’s End raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity but the best part was meeting and hearing stories from people that joined in. I’d say this was my biggest achievement to date.

I’m a keen skier so when I’m not working I love to get on the slopes. I also love spending time with my two boys.

My top 3 books/films…

  • Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
  • Despicable Me
  • A Walk in the Woods – Bill Bryson

My favourite place…

Chamonix, France

Something about me not many people know…

I used to photograph lots of musicians and was voted NME/Nikon Professional Photographer of the Year in 2011.

I love photography, so being able to do it as a job is just amazing. Being able to learn about industries and visit places I wouldn’t normally get to see is the best bit.
