Our story
2012
After a decade-long career in corporate communications, our Founder & Head of Innovation, Matt Wallace, sets out to pursue his passion for using video to tell compelling stories. Equipped with an iMac, tripod, DSLR camera, lens, and audio recorder, he founds Janno Media. Through networking and industry connections, Matt quickly begins producing engaging video content for a range of exciting clients.
2015
As demand increases, Janno Media evolves from a one-man band into a growing team. Matt brings on board his first employee – a full-time Video Editor – to manage the increasing workload and continues leveraging his network to secure new clients. He partners with an award-winning photographer and photography becomes one of our key services. The combination of video and photography proves hugely popular with our clients, which include Nottingham Trent University, Twycross Zoo, Foster Refrigerator, ShipMyCar, eBay for Charity, Argus Media, The British Army, and global law firm CMS. We officially become a team.
2016
Our team continues to expand as we embrace new ways to elevate our clients’ messaging. By introducing motion graphics and aerial videography we add a creative and dynamic approach to storytelling. Our post-production department grows, bringing in skilled professionals specialising in both video and motion graphics. Our client base continues to expand attracting work from diverse industries, including global talent acquisition experts AMS, and Clipper – Round the World, to name but a few.
2020
In response to the pandemic, we focus on innovation to support our clients in a rapidly changing world. We introduce remote capture videography and online and hybrid live streaming solutions. We also hire a Head of Podcasts and begin producing regular podcast series for existing and new clients, including Decarb Connect, Ashurst and Charles Russell Speechlys.
2021
As the business continues to grow from strength to strength, we commit to supporting community sports by sponsoring youth teams across the country. We also invest in aspiring podcasting talent by establishing the Janno Media Award, a £5,000 annual bursary in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University’s Centre for Broadcasting & Journalism.
2022
As our client base expands, we appoint a Projects & Operations Manager to oversee the growing number of projects. We focus on streamlining processes and developing innovative ways of working for both Janno Media and our clients. Our commitment to excellence earns us a spot as finalists in the 2023 Bucks Business Awards for Most Innovative Business.
2025
Today, we’re a strong and skilled team of nine experts, delivering exceptional service and award-winning content across five key areas: Video Production, Motion Graphics, Live Streaming, Podcasts, and Photography. Our clients include multi-national law firm DLA Piper, Baringa, Leo Cancer Care and Michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan. In 2024, we win Silver in the SME MK & Bucks Service Excellence category, a testament to our dedication to helping our clients engage, inform, and inspire.
