Season 3 of The Scene has landed and it’s a doozy!

Monday, July 17th, 2023

After months of reading scripts, chatting with writers, studio sessions and fine-tuning we’re very excited to launch Season 3 of The Scene.

With ten brand-new, bite-sized pod plays on offer, Season 3 of The Scene brings together fantastic scriptwriting, talented performers and dynamic audio editing.

Brought to your ears by Get Over It Productions, in collaboration with Janno Media, The Scene is portable theatre made accessible to all.

Each pod play episode is set in a world of its own, be that a dusty attic in a bereaved house clearance, the halls of the Houses of Parliament or a sit-com set ruled by a blood thirsty monster – each writer’s voice is beautifully unique.

The Scene

There is so much writing talent out there – so many voices - the material so rich and varied. We wanted to find a way to give it a digital reach beyond the confines of fringe theatre stages.

Velenzia Spearpoint, Producer, Get Over It Productions.

We received over TWO HUNDRED submissions for this latest season and – though it was a tough choice – we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate the following work (in alphabetical order, not order of release) which made the cut:

  • Matt and Eva Are Not Dead Yet – by Emily-Jane Clark
  • Daddy Issues – by Lynsey Cullen
  • Artist Unknown – by Nicky Denovan
  • Sickening – by Daisy Garroch
  • Laugh Track – by Liam D Gilies
  • My Wee Home – by Aaron Hickland
  • Hacking Tyler – by Judy Klass & Ron Reed
  • I Think This Will Be Good for Us – by Will Pinhey
  • Bloody Paperwork – by Lawrence Quilty
  • Lockdown No. 36 – by Stephen Saleh
Sickening - The Scene Season 3

We would like to thank each writer who submitted their scrips for consideration. The Scene Team binge-read every single script and appreciate the time and effort each writer took to get them to us.

IF YOU ARE A WRITER and would like a script of YOURS to be considered for SEASON 4 – details of how to submit are at the end of each episode.

Episodes will be released weekly each Monday from the 17 July 2023 – and you can listen to them (and the archive) below.

We’d love to know what you think once you’ve tuned in – please email our Head of Podcasts, Sassy Clyde with your feedback.
