Case study: Chalk Hill Blue promotional video

Thursday, February 7th, 2019

It was a real pleasure to produce one of our most recent projects showcasing the talents of poet Will Burns and musician, Hannah Peel.

We caught up with Will and Hannah to chat about the making of their debut album Chalk Hill Blue, which fuses Will’s stunning poetry and Hannah’s emotive electronic compositions.

The video is used to introduce the album and describes the artistic process in which the poetry and music is matched for this unique collaboration, which will be released in March.

As well as being used to announce the new album online, this video is a really effective way of promoting the live events at which Will and Hannah will be performing at during 2019.

Will, who is poet-in-residence at Caught by the River, comments:

Hannah and I both thought that video would explain the process behind the record and also how two quite different artists and people came to work together.

The filming process was great. I was struck by how easily Matt got his idea across, how quick he worked, and how he understood the nature of the project so well.

I’m looking forward to getting a different audience together to engage with poetry of this kind. Working with Hannah has allowed these poems to travel a lot further than they normally would. It will be exciting to see how people respond, especially at the live shows.
